Bronny James made his first G League start Saturday night in the South Bay Lakers’ season opener.

The Lakers beat the Salt Lake City Stars 110-96 at the UCLA Health Training Center in El Segundo, California.

James scored the first points of the game with a jumper from the right corner. He also contributed to the defensive effort, collecting rebounds and creating turnovers. He played throughout the game before he was subbed out for the last time with 2:36 left in the fourth quarter.

He spent the first nine games of the season with his father LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. He’s expected to return to the NBA team at some point this season.
